Kelly and her younger sister spent the majority of their lives in the government system living in an institution. As victims of constant abuse and neglect at the hands of their own family, they both wanted nothing more than the chance to grow up together as sisters in an adoptive family.
After years of waiting, Kelly aged out of the system and became ineligible for adoption. Her sister, however, still had a chance at finding a forever family. Knowing this, Kelly selflessly asked to be legally separated from her younger sister so that she could be adopted and grow up in a loving family. Just as Kelly had prayed, her sister was eventually united with a forever family and moved to the United States.
However, without additional support, Kelly was left with the unfortunate options of either remaining in an institution, or enduring life on the streets without access to the tools she would need to break the cycle of poverty.
Kelly dreams of completing her education, becoming a Nutritionist, and continuing to help advocate for children who are living in institutions without the love of a family. Now that she has entered AGCI’s Dream Home, Kelly has the opportunity to live in an age-appropriate and supportive environment while pursuing a college degree. By sponsoring Kelly, you can ensure that she continues to receive the necessary tools for her transition into independence, is provided with the guidance, love, and support she needs to thrive, and ultimately is given the opportunity to change the system and reach her full potential.
