HOW TO ADOPT A CHILD
AGCI staff will review this application to determine your family’s eligibility for specific adoption programs. Each country has its own set of eligibility requirements—a pre-app allows our inquiry team to provide direction on the adoption programs that would best fit your family.
Upon receipt of your pre-app, a member of our adoption team will reach out to you within one business day to discuss the adoption programs that might be the best fit for your family.
Adoption costs can feel overwhelming. Our Financial Expert can provide resources and tools to help you learn more about how adoption can become financially feasible for your family.
Prospective adoptive parents must complete the formal application and submit a $300 non-refundable adoption application fee. Upon application approval, you have officially begun your adoption journey!
Next, you will receive an orientation packet that includes the adoption service agreement and a specific service plan for your family. Your Program Case Manager will schedule an orientation call to cover the documents contained in the orientation packet. Once you’ve completed and notarized all documents, you will mail the documents to AGCI with the required fees.
AGCI is licensed to perform home studies in six states – Oregon, Washington, Ohio, Michigan, Indiana and Kentucky. Adoptive parents who live outside these states will choose a home study agency from AGCI’s approved list of adoption agencies.
This is the best and often the hardest part of the adoption process. Please know that we are here for you every step of the way! We are so grateful for the opportunity to walk this amazing journey with you!
