AGCI is committed to transforming lives through Independence programs that give older orphans the tools they need to thrive. We do this in two primary ways:
Vocational Training and Education
Through education and vocational training, we’re working to help orphans transition to independence, break the cycle of poverty, and create successful futures. These programs give hope to a group of children that’s often forgotten. You can impact older orphans by providing them with the sponsorship and encouragement they need to follow their dreams, earn their degrees, and become independent adults.
Dream Homes
Together with our partner in Colombia, we’re creating Dream Homes for kids aging out of institutional care. Dream Homes provide a safe space for teenagers to transition into independent adulthood. Through dorm style housing, kids who previously would have been on the streets will now have an opportunity to study, live, and learn how to be an adult while pursuing a college degree or vocational training program. House “parents” will provide guidance, support, and love during this critical time of growth and self-discovery. We believe that only by imagining a different future for older orphans can we begin to empower the next generation of leaders who will then be able to imagine a world where there is no such thing as an orphan.
