All God’s Children International is a Christian, non-profit organization. We have been helping children and families for over 17 years. In that time, we have united close to 2,000 children with their forever families and currently AGCI completes approximately 200 adoptions each year.

We are proud to announce that on February 29, AGCI was among the first group of agencies to receive Hague Accreditation. The Hague Convention on Inter-country Adoption is an international agreement between participating countries on best adoption procedures. To receive accreditation signifies the highest standards in integrity and leadership among adoption providers.

As you begin your international adoption journey, one of the most important steps you will take involves choosing which agency is the best fit for your family. At AGCI, we believe that one of the foundational elements in working with an agency is trust.

You need an agency who you can trust to advocate for you throughout the adoption process. You also need an agency you can trust to address your cares, concerns and needs. We are that agency.

Our personal promise to you is to work ethically and responsibly, and to lovingly serve you throughout the adoption process. It is our pledge to work together with you to discover the beautiful child that God has chosen to put in your home. Throughout the adoption process, AGCI is committed to going joyfully where God sends us in order to impact the lives of those He has given us to serve.

Our Experience

If you choose to take this adoption journey with us, you will be deciding to adopt through an agency with high moral integrity, a commitment to service, a passion for communication, and a reputation that has held true for almost two decades.

Our Commitment to Communication

We believe that good communication is the essential building block to any good relationship. We believe, and have experienced over the years, that communication builds relationship and relationship builds trust. Our AGCI staff makes communication our highest priority. Although each country has a unique adoption process, we have developed a system to keep each family informed of their own adoption as well as to educate them about different aspects of adopting a child internationally. Below we have listed some of the ways we serve our families.

  • Communication plan for each family
  • Monthly e-mail updates
  • AGCI family listserv
  • Annual picnics

Our Orphan Care Programs

Our desire to see children in loving adoptive families springs from our core heart to care for the orphan. That love and care extends to all the little ones left behind. Our motivation to help these children makes AGCI more than just an adoption agency. It means we are committed to the children who may never find a family or leave their country of birth. This heartfelt commitment is all-embracing and shows itself clearly in our Hannah's Hope Orphan Care Homes. Many children adopted by our families have been cared for by one of these orphan care programs before being united with their family.

Our Pre- and Post-Adoption Training and Support

AGCI wants to make your journey as healthy and positive as possible, both before and after the adoption. We believe it is very important that you are properly prepared for what to expect prior to your child's arrival home, as well as continuously supported after your child's homecoming. Our social service staff members will help you through this process and are happy to answer any questions concerning the adjustment and well being of your child.

AGCI offers pre-adoption training to all families beginning the adoption process. As part of our training we provide online courses, a required reading list, and workbooks covering key adoption topics.

Below is an overview of the services AGCI provides to families who adopt through one of our adoption programs.

Service 1 - Family Home Study:
The first service is to complete or assist in the completion of your family's home study. You will complete a home study through either AGCI or an AGCI Cooperating Agency. If you are using an AGCI Cooperating Agency, AGCI plays a vital role in ensuring that all country, state, and AGCI requirements are met.
Service 2 - Identify Child for Adoption:
The second service AGCI offers is to identify a child for adoption. AGCI works directly with our accredited foreign service providers to ensure all documents are submitted to the sending country. AGCI will communicate with you when a child has been identified.
Service 3 - Child Background Study:
The child background study will be written by the orphanage where your referred child is living and the information is formally issued through most foreign governments. AGCI will advocate on your behalf if additional information is needed.
Service 4 - Determine Whether the Placement is in the Best Interest of the Child:
AGCI staff reviews all information on the referred child and undertakes a process with you to determine if the placement is in the best interest of the child. Factors we consider are a family's approved referral parameters in their home study and adoption education training, along with the specific social and medical background of the child.
Service 5 - Arrange Child Placement:
AGCI works directly with you on the placement process.
Service 6 - Obtain the Sending Country Consent:
AGCI works with the foreign service provider/sending country to obtain the sending country consent.
Service 7 - Post-adoption Monitoring:
AGCI and your home study agency will monitor placement and post-adoption reports. All reports will be submitted through AGCI's post-adoption coordinator and some post-adoption processes are required until a child turns 18 years of age.

Receive and complete a formal application

Upon approval of the preliminary application, AGCI will send you a formal application. You can complete the formal application and submit a $300 non-refundable application fee. Upon approval, AGCI will send you a program orientation packet.

Receive and submit orientation documentation

Adoptive parents review, complete and return all notarized orientation documentation along with the applicable fees. AGCI will then assign a case manager and a family education coordinator.

Complete home study and dossier process

You will begin your home study with AGCI or an AGCI cooperating agency. During the home study process, you can work simultaneously on completing the required dossier paperwork and AGCI required education courses. Once the home study and required education is complete, you will apply with the U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (CIS).

Following CIS approval, you submit your completed dossier, including the home study and CIS approval, to AGCI for review, along with applicable fees. AGCI will complete document translation and authentication.

AGCI submits dossier to sending country

AGCI will submit your dossier to the foreign government of the sending country for review and approval.

Referral

Once the sending country approves the paperwork, a child is referred to the adoptive parent(s). This process varies by country.

Approval from sending country on adoption

Once you accept the referral of a child, the sending country processes the necessary documents to formally approve the adoption. This process varies by country.

Travel

You travel to the sending country to complete the Immigrant Visa for your child. This process allows the adopted child entrance into the United States. The child receives U.S. citizenship upon entry into the country.

Post-adoption reports

Sending countries and AGCI require post-adoption reports to be completed by AGCI or an AGCI cooperating agency at various intervals after the child enters the United States. The adoption is not finalized with AGCI until the last post-adoption report is completed.

*Please note: this is a general overview. The process above can vary slightly from country to country. Please ask AGCI for specific details.

Receive and complete a Formal Application

Upon approval of the preliminary application, AGCI will send you a formal application. Adoptive parents can complete the formal application and submit a 0 non-refundable application fee. Upon approval, AGCI will send parents their program orientation packet.

Step 3

Complete Orientation Process

Review enclosed documents: Enclosed in your adoption program orientation packet will be an adoption service agreement and a program orientation packet. At this time, an inquiry staff member will complete a specific service plan with your family.

Complete Orientation Call: AGCI’s Inquiry Department will contact you to set up an agency orientation call to discuss the adoption services you will be receiving throughout your adoption journey. The orientation call will cover the service agreements and address any questions you may have before officially starting as an adoptive parent through our agency.

Submit all Documentation and Initial Fees: Once you’ve completed and notarized all documents, you will mail the documents to AGCI, with required fees.

Step 4

Select a Home Study Agency

If you have not already done so, you will need to choose a home study agency from AGCI’s cooperating agency list. Completing your home study is just one part of the dossier paperwork process. You will need to let AGCI know which cooperating agency you are using so that we can forward on the home study guidelines for both the sending country and AGCI. If you have already started or completed a home study, please be aware that once your adoption service agreements are processed and your social worker receives our guidelines, revisions will be necessary.

Step 5

Receive the Adoption Planner

Upon receipt of all the International Adoption Service Agreement and the initial fees, AGCI will process all the signed and notarized documents and send you the adoption planner. This planner will include pre-adoption information along with instructions on how to begin your dossier. Your case manager will be assigned to you at this time.
