How We’re Breaking The Cycle In Africa

PREVENT

AGCI prevents children from entering institutions by strengthening families.

  • We do this by lifting up families and communities through sponsorship programs that teach the importance of connection and trust so families can thrive.

PROVIDE

AGCI provides elevated care for children living in institutions so they can reach their God-given potential and thrive.

  • We do this by working with institutions and training caregivers so that children can heal from trauma and break the cycle.

Place

AGCI places children with their forever families through reunification and adoption programs.

  • We ensure all families in our programs receive the trauma-informed training they need to be prepared to meet the needs of their children.

Prepare

AGCI prepares youth aging out of the system, empowering them to break the cycle of trauma and create paths to independence.

  • Children who previously would have been on the streets and at a high risk of being trafficked will now have an opportunity to study, live, and learn how to be an adult while pursuing a college degree or vocational training program.

POLICY

AGCI transforms policy to change the system and break the cycle of trauma.

  • We empower local leaders to address the systemic issues that cause children to languish in institutions.
CycleBreakersAfrica Selam

Your support helps children like Selam!

Through the support of Cycle Breakers like you, we were able to place 13-year-old Selam* back into the arms of her biological family. When we first met Selam, she was living in a government-run institution in Ethiopia. Selam had run away from home in the hopes of securing a job to help her struggling family. Sadly, instead of finding work, she ended up on the streets where she was abused repeatedly. We were able to bring Selam to the AGCI & the Tim Tebow Foundation House of Hope where we began to work with her to help her find peace and understand her inherent worth.

Upon arrival, Selam would lash out verbally and physically at anyone who got too close. Our team saw beyond Selam’s behaviors and knew that she needed connection and security more than ever. Slowly we watched as Selam began to heal her deep wounds. Our team eventually located her family and began to teach them the parenting skills and self-regulation techniques that they needed to support Selam and truly thrive as a family. We are overjoyed to share that today this beautiful family is reunified! This is a powerful reminder of what’s possible when we come alongside hurting children and families and help them meet both practical and spiritual needs.
