Birhane lives at our Hannah’s Hope partner home along with her older sister, Etenesh and younger brother, Girma. Her mother passed away when she was very young and her father struggles to find work as a day laborer. Birhane was separated from her siblings and working as a housemaid before she came into care.
Birhane loves school! She lights up whenever she has the opportunity to talk about English and Amharic, her two favorite subjects. She recently shared with her caregivers that she dreams of becoming a teacher one day. Birhane would love to teach English and can often be found tutoring some of the other children in the home. We love her passion for teaching her friends what she learns in school—she will be an excellent teacher one day! Birhane is shy and so very sweet. When she first meets a person she can be hesitant to make eye contact, but once she feels comfortable she begins to let out the silly and fun side of her personality. Birhane also loves to do crafts and play volleyball and soccer.
Will you help sponsor Birhane and ensure that she has the love, care, and nourishment she needs to thrive?
