Packed and Ready To Go!

Now to him who is able to do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine, according to his power that is at work within us Ephesians 3:20

XiamenMapI am so excited to leave for Xiamen on Friday! I am almost packed and ready to go!

Last night I was surprised to hear that due to a family emergency that one of our doctors will not be able to come on the trip. Recently, I also learned that we would examine 172 kids, when originally it would be about 100. So we have almost doubled the kids and halved our medical team! While this came as a surprise to me I know it did not to God, and he has a plan. I know God loves these kids so much and wants good things for them.  I watched in amazement this last month, while we saw the last of 16 referrals placed from Xiamen, sweet Gabriella, who I have grown to love and have prayed for months for, as well as I know many of you have!

I also am in awe of our first two little girls that have come home from Xiamen already. I welcomed both moms home in the last week, and to hear them both say, we could not imagine a better referral for us, made me smile and be amazed at how God brings families together. I believed that God would place all those kids when we got them, even though it is very rare to place an entire group, but he did it! When I was in China in July, the verse that God put in my heart was Ephesians 3:20, “Now to him who is able to do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine, according to his power that is at work within us.” This was a good reminder today, that I know God can do more than we can ever ask or imagine for the children! And he will do it in his strength, not ours.  I am excited to see what he has in store and see him work there!  I desire to be used by him and to be a blessing to the children there as well as to the families I serve.  The children are such treasures and I can’t wait to spend time with them.

Friday-depart at 10:30AM from Portland to Seattle, Seattle to Shanghai, Shanghai to Xiamen

Saturday-arrive in Xiamen at 11:50PM

Sunday-10AM meet with our Doctor and visit government approved international church nearby, and that night meet with American volunteer team there for dinner to discuss their work at Xiamen

Monday-Wednesday Xiamen orphanage- medical examinations

Thursday-travel to Longyan and visit all the kids in foster care there

Friday-travel to Fuzhou by train for appointment at the Civil Affairs office to give $10,000 donation to further orphan care in the province./Continue medical examinations in the afternoon at Xiamen

Saturday-rest 🙂

Monday-head back to Portland!
