One Dream For Three Sisters

We met sisters Laura (14), Mari (11), and Lily (9) last month in Colombia and one thing was clear immediately—these girls all dream of having a forever family! During the afternoon we spent together coloring, swinging, and playing freeze tag, we were able to see just how close these amazing sisters are.

These sweet sisters have been through a lot, but they’ve always had each other! Their close bond is remarkable to witness—they have so much fun together and are able to let loose and be themselves in each other’s company. Laura, Mari, and Lily know each other inside and out and we so enjoyed learning more about how they view one another and what each other’s strengths are!

Oldest sister Laura is quieter and always seeks to protect her sisters. Laura is quick to check on her younger sisters and make sure all of their needs are met before worrying about herself. She even styles their hair—we were sure to compliment her on her beautiful braiding skills!

Laura’s true passion is school! She loves learning and works hard to excel in her classes. Laura is in the 7^th grade and, currently, her favorite subject is art! She likes drawing faces, animals, and making her own cartoons. Laura has a deep love of animals! She likes cats and dogs and dreams of becoming a vet when she grows up.

Laura’s sisters shared that she is, “nice, funny, sweet, and really respectful.” Those compliments meant a lot to her coming from her little sisters! Laura shared again and again with us how much she wants to have a family and for her sisters to all remain together! When asked what family means to her, Laura told our team that a family is made up of people who take care of each other and support each other. We just love this sweet girl’s heart!

Middle sister Mari is definitely a leader among her sisters! Mari is a very active kid and loved organizing her sisters for freeze tag during our visit! Her sisters teased her by saying that she’s the messiest and the bossiest—she took it in stride though and laughed with them! This anecdote is a great peek into who Mari is—easy going, caring, and silly!

Mari thrives at school and her favorite subject is math. In her third-grade class, she’s currently learning division, which she loves! Mari is creative and has a great sense of humor! She’s well-liked at school and has many friends. Like her older sister, Mari also dreams of becoming a veterinarian and her biggest wish is to be adopted into a family with her sisters!

Lily is the youngest and according to her older sisters, she’s the sweetest! This cutie is super outgoing and interactive! Lily always wants to help others and is the first to ask a friend or her sisters if they need anything.

Lily is in the second grade and loves art and learning to draw! She likes playing with her friends and sisters and being silly is her favorite. Lily also loves learning new hairstyles and practicing on her sisters. She also shared with us that she wants to be a chef when she grows up!

Like her older sisters, Lily shared again and again with our team how much she wants a family and wants to stay together with her sisters!

These amazing sisters are so close and we loved watching them play and make each other laugh! Laura, Mari, and Lily all shared with us individually how much they want a forever family. It’s their dream to finally experience the unconditional love and support of a family.
