OUR WORK IN THE DOMINICAN REPUBLIC

ABOUT THE DOMINICAN REPUBLIC

Due to a lack of resources for a large part of the community and stark income inequality in the Dominican Republic, a reported 31% of people live in poverty. Many school-aged children are not able to receive traditional education. Tragically, due to this cycle of poverty, many children suffer from the impacts of malnutrition and lack of support for overall healthy growth and development.

HOW WE’RE INTERVENING FOR ORPHANS IN THE DOMINICAN REPUBLIC

AGCI began intervening for children and families in the Dominican Republic in 2023! Through our international adoption program in the Dominican Republic, we help children ages 0-15 unite with their forever families!

Finding Families for Orphans

In 2023, we began working to unite orphans in the Dominican Republic with loving forever families through our adoption programs.

We’re so excited to work with the Dominican Republic’s Central Authority, which is very child-centered, thoughtful, and efficient when working with families. We have a great working relationship with the local staff for this program and the travel process for families is streamlined!

The Dominican Republic is included in our Heritage Family Program, which works with people from the Dominican Republic or who have Dominican heritage adopt from the country. Please reach out to us if you would like to learn more about this program.
