Celebrating The Gift Of Life

“…I have come that they may have life, and have it to the full.” John 10:10

Each month, we’re celebrating the gifts that Jesus brings into our lives. The gift of a full, better life is so apparent in the life-changing effects of quality care. Through our newly launched Connected Care caregiver training program in Colombia, we’re equipping caregivers with the knowledge and resources they need to help children thrive.

In October of 2018, AGCI’s first country-wide initiative to elevate the standard of childcare took place in Colombia! AGCI’s VP of International Programs, Kiersten Luginbill, and TBRI Practitioner Educator, Trudy Landis, traveled to Colombia to institute the first Connected Care pilot program at a local orphanage. The program is designed to introduce attachment-based principles in a hands-on, practical way for caregivers.

AGCI’s goal is for both caregivers and children to experience the evidence-based benefits of Trust-Based Relational Intervention (TBRI)—which includes true healing for children, better connection between caregivers and children, and the ability to manage behaviors in a more loving and attachment-based way. The Connected Care pilot program will continue to take place over the next few months as a continuous learning process that’s more in-depth and interactive. Our hope is that this program can be replicated throughout all of Colombia’s institutions—changing the standard of care for over 100,000 children and generations of families!
