Celebrating The Gift of Healing

2018 Caregiver Training 2532 OPT 1

“Beloved, let us love one another, for love is from God, and whoever loves has been born of God and knows God.  Anyone who does not love does not know God, because God is love.”  1 John 4:7-8

Each month, we’re celebrating the gifts that Jesus brings into our lives. The life-changing impact of true healing is so apparent in Trust-Based Relational Intervention (TBRI). Through our newly launched Connected Care caregiver training program in Colombia that is based in TBRI principles, we’re equipping caregivers with the knowledge and resources they need to help children thrive.

We feel so blessed by all that God has done through our caregiver training initiatives in Colombia! Just last month, 4 influential members of Colombia’s ICBF and academic circles traveled to Spokane, Washington with several AGCI team members to be trained as TBRI Practitioners. These incredible individuals are already on the ground in Colombia, sharing their knowledge and changing lives!

AGCI also recently led our first caregiver training Special Forces meeting in partnership with Andrea Leon Lopez, an ICBF Director who was recently trained as a TBRI Practitioner. 45 individuals in Colombia from a variety of backgrounds in child welfare and advocacy took part in this meeting. Our hope is that together, these groups will learn ways in which they can integrate TBRI and develop new guidelines for care in the country.

Looking ahead, we are so excited by all that God is making possible! We are now partnering with Texas Christian University to train government leaders as TBRI practitioners. We are praising God for making this possible for children and families in Colombia!
