What Is A Sponsorship Ambassador?

AGCI Ambassadors are passionate sponsors who are committed to advocating for the vulnerable children within AGCI’s sponsorship programs. Driven to broaden their impact of sponsorship, ambassadors invite friends, families and communities to learn more about the needs of orphaned and vulnerable children across the globe. By empowering others to become sponsors, ambassadors help to ensure that children around the world can remain within their family’s loving care, continue their education, and ultimately break the cycle of poverty. The first step to becoming an ambassador is sponsoring a child!

When you sponsor a child’s education, you aren’t just enabling them to attend school—you’re also providing essential support so they can remain within a family! Join the Sponsorship Ambassador Facebook group and spread the word about the orphan crisis and show your friends how they can help via Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter. By inviting your friends and family to participate in the work God has called us to, we are able to share our mission and all do our part to care for the world’s orphans!

Invite 5 – 10 people or host a night of 30 guests! We want to help these events fit your community and comfort level. Bring your community together to celebrate sponsorship and give them an opportunity to learn more about the impact you have already made globally!

If you host an event, we will provide supporting materials and walk you through the process of preparing for your event. As a host, you will receive:

AGCI offers Vision Trips to Ambassadors who are committed to furthering the mission and want to see the work firsthand. Led by an AGCI staff member, this life-changing experience of seeing the work with your own eyes is the first step in joining the movement to intervene for orphans!

Frequently Asked Questions

What is the Facebook group used for?

The AGCI Ambassador Facebook group is a place where AGCI sponsors can come together to advocate for vulnerable children worldwide. Through the Facebook group, you’ll be able to share your unique sponsorship experience, get the “behind the scenes” updates on sponsorship, and connect with AGCI staff in a meaningful way!

What are the expectations as a Sponsorship Ambassador?

Each week, we’ll focus on one child that we want to find a sponsor for. We encourage our ambassadors to help by sharing this child’s story on their social media accounts. With hundreds of children in our sponsorship programs, we’re in need of a lot of sponsors! Sponsorship Ambassadors can also play a huge part in finding sponsors for children by hosting events at their church, with a small group of friends, or with family. Hosting events is not required, but highly encouraged!

What are the opportunities for compensation?

All God’s Children International is a non-profit organization and we are unable to give monetary compensation for participation on the Ambassador Team. We do, however, offer free or discounted merchandise throughout the year and travel opportunities!

Are there travel opportunities?

We believe there is incredible value in seeing AGCI’s work firsthand. We will reach out to you as travel opportunities to AGCI’s sponsorship countries become available!

What does the time commitment for a Sponsorship Ambassador look like?

The Ambassador Program has multiple opportunities for engagement and your time commitment can vary based on your schedule and desire to advocate! Sharing social media posts can take a few minutes per week, while an event might take a few days to plan

Do I have to be a current sponsor to be a Sponsorship Ambassador?

We believe that the best advocates for sponsorship are people who have experienced the program themselves. Therefore, we do require that each of our ambassadors is a sponsor.

I'm already a Sponsorship Ambassador. How do I sign up to host an event?

We’re happy to hear that you’d like to host a sponsorship event in collaboration with AGCI. Most all of the resources you’ll need are available on the AGCI Ambassador Facebook Group page. For the materials, you’ll need and to sign up to host an event click here!

Provide

Aweru Tesfaye is from the northern region in Ethiopia of Tigray, and entered the Ethiopia Education Sponsorship program in August of 2009 when she was 12 years old. Sadly, both of her parents had passed away from illness, and she and her brother were being raised by their elderly grandmother. Their only income came from agriculture, making it extremely difficult for their vulnerable family to live out of poverty. Upon entering the program, Aweru enjoyed writing and reading, but her school performance was only rated as average as the resources provided to her were scarce. As a full orphan, Aweru was at risk of having to drop out of school to work and help support her family, eliminating her chance at an education and the opportunity to have hope for a better future if she didn’t receive sponsorship.

Aweru graduated from college this past winter from Daero College. After excelling in all of her courses, she received her degree in Accounting, and is now on her way to a career to provide for her future. Sponsorship allowed Aweru to remain in school, continue her education into college, and reach her full potential. The savings program made it possible for her to save for her future, and help her vulnerable family break the continuous cycle of poverty.
