Roman is a social and friendly little boy who is waiting for a family in the Philippines. Roman was abandoned at four days old and was given over to a temporary home for babies and toddlers. At 4 years old he loved to show affection and smiled often. As he began his early education, he quickly excelled at drawing, writing, puzzles, and arts and crafts.
At 5 years old, Roman was diagnosed with Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder after his caretakers noticed that he presented hyperactive and impulsive behaviors. Otherwise, Roman’s cognitive ability was, and continues to be, on track with the other children his age.
At the end of 2017, he entered a new home for children and adjusted well to his new environment. He has been in the new institution since then and has been doing well there. Roman is inquisitive and playful and has behaved very well in his elementary school classes. He continues to attend occupational therapy once a week to work on his impulse control and attention span. Despite his diagnosis, he’s been successful at staying on track academically. The improvement Roman has shown in managing his behavior is so encouraging, and we’re absolutely sure that he will thrive under the care of a loving family.
