Our Work in the Philippines

ABOUT THE PHILIPPINES

Tragically, due to stigmas and cultural expectations surrounding children and families, most children abandoned in the Philippines have special needs. Significant gaps in socioeconomic status has also led to widespread poverty in the more rural areas of the Philippines. Due to this cycle of poverty, 32% of infants are stunted due to poor nutrition.

HOW WE’RE INTERVENING FOR ORPHANS IN THE PHILIPPINES

AGCI has been intervening for children and families in the Philippines since 2012! Through our international adoption program, we help children as young as two years old unite with their forever families! AGCI is also committed to intervening for orphans throughout the Philippines–thanks to AGCI, 500 children received critical support in the wake of a devastating typhoon.

RECENT NEWS

Every family in our Philippines adoption program is matched with a child! This is a really strong program—there continues to be a great need for families!

Finding Families for Orphans

Since 2012, we’ve worked to unite orphans in the Philippines with loving forever families through our adoption programs. Recently, 10 children have been placed with their forever families through AGCI’s Philippines adoption program.

We’re so excited to work with the Philippines Central Authority, which continues to be very child-centered, thoughtful, and efficient when working with families. We have a great working relationship with the local staff for this program and travel for adoptive families continues to be seamless.

We also offer a Relative Adoption program for extended family members. Please reach out to us to learn more about this program.

“I feel crazy saying this, but I just knew that we had a little boy in the world that we needed to find.  I didn’t tell many people that, but I just had this feeling that I already missed him.  Which is crazy because that’s when he was born—towards the end of 2013.”
