How to Get Started
Adoption can feel overwhelming. We’re here to help! AGCI is committed to being with you every step of the way on your journey to adopt a child. Please contact us to learn more about how to adopt a child through AGCI.
Submit a FREE Preliminary Application – AGCI staff will review the application to determine eligibility for specific adoption programs. Each country has its own set of eligibility requirements, so with a preliminary application, our inquiry staff can provide direction on the adoption programs that would best fit your family.
Complete Adoption Application – Prospective adoptive parents must complete the formal application and submit a $300 non-refundable adoption application fee. Upon application approval, you have officially begun your adoption journey!
Complete Orientation Process – You will receive an orientation packet which includes the adoption service agreement and a specific service plan for your family. Your inquiry coordinator will schedule an orientation call to cover the documents contained in the orientation packet. Once you’ve completed and notarized all documents, you will mail the documents to AGCI with the required fees.
Begin your Home Study – AGCI is licensed to perform home studies in six states – Oregon, Washington, Ohio, Michigan, Indiana and Kentucky. Adoptive parents who live outside these states will choose a home study agency from AGCI’s cooperating adoption agency list.
