A Family For Lydia

“But God will never forget the needy; the hope of the afflicted will never perish.” Psalm 9:18

11-year-old Lydia has been waiting for a family since she was 6 years old. This amazing girl has been through so much, but we know God has a bright future planned for her.

Forever Family, Waiting ChildLydia spent her first few years on a farm in Colombia with her birth mother. Her birth mother worked selling food and brought Lydia to the farm from early in the morning until late at night. Her mom realized this was not the life Lydia should live and she made a very difficult decision to place her in protection with the central authority and for adoption.

As with most children, entering care was very difficult for Lydia. She felt abandoned and struggled to keep up in school. While she had a difficult time adjusting to life in an orphanage, we are so excited to share that over the past two years she has made great improvements academically and through counseling!

Lydia’s counselors and social workers shared that she has an amazing imagination! Lydia processes many of her emotions by expressing her creativity and loves to paint and write letters to the people in her life.

Lydia is thoughtful, mature, and has a deep compassion for others. This sweet girl is very responsible and connected to others around her. We continue to be amazed by her maturity and heart! We know God has not forgotten Lydia and she deserves a family to love and support her.

Please pray and share Lydia’s story so she can come home!
