A Family For Levi

UPDATE: We are so excited to share that Levi has found his forever family! To learn about other children still waiting for their forever family, visit our international adoption photolistings.

We met Levi at one of our partnership orphanages in China in July of 2013 and have grown to love him! He is a very sweet and good-natured kid with a ready smile! Levi was abandoned when he was just three years old and has lived in an orphanage ever since. Today, he is 12 years old and will age out if he turns 14 without a family.

This resilient boy loves to play basketball, and his favorite color is yellow. When we visited he shared that his favorite subject is writing and he can read and write basic Chinese. Levi loves hanging out with his friends, singing, playing games, doing puzzles, trying new, challenging things and drawing.

Levi is a good eater and generally eats whatever is given to him! He especially loves to eat cake, cauliflower, hamburgers, and pizza! Walking long distances can be tiring for Levi so he currently attends physical therapy to help strengthen his legs.

Levi gets along well with others and is described as friendly, excitable, and talkative. He likes to help younger kids as well as his teachers at the class he attends at the orphanage. We watched Levi assist other children several times—he’s always sure to help without completing the task for them. Levi is very compassionate and is very attached to his teachers and caregivers at the orphanage.

Several of Levi’s friends have been adopted and a couple more are in process. We would love to see him have a family too! Each time we visit Levi we fall more in love with this sweet boy! Levi loves art and created the amazing Sponge Bob pieces (pictured) when we visited.

Levi is a treasure and would be a blessing to any family! When we asked Levi  if he would like to be adopted he responded with, “I want to have a mommy and daddy like my friends who have been adopted. I have seen pictures of how happy they are with their families. When will I have a mommy and daddy?”

We hope we can make a family a reality for him! In China, children age out of the system at just 14 years old. Often, they remain institutionalized for the rest of their lives. We would love to see Levi have the hope of a family as well as receive the medical care that he desperately needs! To see Levi in action, view his video here. There is a generous donor that wants to ensure finances do not prevent a family from moving forward!
